Choose your Chairlift
Sauze d’Oulx has two main chairlifts from the village: Clotes and Sportinia.

If it’s your first time skiing or you’ve only skied on artificial slopes, we recommend starting with the Sportinia chairlift.
How to get there
Sportinia is a few minutes by bus or a 10-minute walk from the shop.
Tip
You can walk up the chairlift carrying your skis. We recommend putting your boots on first, so you have less to carry.
Beginner’s Ski Area
At the top, you will find a dedicated beginners’ area with a magic carpet and access to ski schools — the perfect place to start in a safe and peaceful environment.
Pistes to Try
Before attempting the descent to the village (slope 11), we recommend taking the Rocce Nere chairlift and doing a few easy blue or red slopes higher up. You will probably take the Sportinia chairlift back down in the early days — that’s perfectly normal! It’s the best way to enjoy your first few days without stress.
For Intermediates & Expert Skiers
Start early
Take the first chairlift around 9:00 a.m. The slopes are freshly groomed and still quiet — perfect for enjoying clean turns and compact snow.

Warm up
Start with a gentle descent from Rocce Nere, then continue on piste 11 or switch to the red 2000 or 29 for something more dynamic.
Follow the sun
Take the Rocce Nere chairlift back up and continue in the “vallone” area, which gets the afternoon sun. From there, you can choose to go towards Sestriere or Sansicario (Colò chairlift) or stay on the Sauze side (Chamonier chairlift).

Late lunch, early après
We prefer not to ski until late, so we recommend a late lunch followed by a couple of last runs.
